Col. Ben "Patrick" McFall III
Colonel McFall was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Infantry upon graduation from Tennessee State University/Vanderbilt ROTC in 1997. After graduating from the Infantry Officer Basic Course, his first assignment was 1st Battalion, 87th Infantry, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, NY. He served as a Rifle Platoon Leader, Anti-Tank Platoon Leader, and S-3 Air. As an Infantry Platoon Leader, COL McFall deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina as the Division Quick Reaction Force.
Upon graduation from the Armor Officer Advanced Course, COL McFall's next assignment was 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. He served as the Battalion S-4, Assistant S-3, and commanded Charlie Company, 1-5 CAV, a Mechanized Infantry Company in Iraq. After redeploying from Iraq, COL McFall deployed his Company in support of Hurricane Katrina relief effort.
COL McFall joined the Army Acquisition Corps in 2006 as a contracting officer at TACOM. Following this assignment, he stood up the 641st Contingency Contracting Team in Kuwait, in support of ARCENT. COL McFall returned to Detroit as an Assistant Product Manager for Product Manager Armored Security Vehicle. He was responsible for fielding, training, and supporting the Afghan National Army Mobile Strike Force in support of Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan/NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan. COL McFall was then assigned to the Pentagon, serving as a Department of Army System Coordinator and Division Chief in Plans, Programs, and Resources. His Battalion Command was the Director of Contracting for 1st Capabilities Integration Group (Airborne) and then selected for Brigade Command of Yuma Proving Grounds.
His civilian and military education includes the Infantry Officer Basic Course, Infantry Mortar Leaders Course, Armor Officer Advanced Course, Command and General Staff College, Army Acquisition Basic Course, Army Acquisition Intermediate Contracting Course. COL McFall holds a Masters Degree in National Security Strategy from the Army War College and a Masters of Arts in Procurement and Acquisition Management from Webster University. He attended the University of Virginia Executive Education for Leadership and Eckerd College Leadership Development Program. He is DAWIA Level III Certified in Program Management and Contracting to include a Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
Awards and decorations include Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with five (5) oak leaf cluster, Joint Commendation Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with Valor and Army Commendation Medal with two (2) oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal with one (1) oak leaf cluster, Iraq and Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Valorous Unit Award, Navy Unit Commendation, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal with Bronze Star, NATO Medal with one (1) oak leaf cluster, Humanitarian Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Parachute Badge, Air Assault Badge, Army Staff Identification Badge, and Ranger Tab.
